I watched this over at The Oriel. It’s one of The Bead Den’s other cool blogs.
It’s a it’s a very interesting video with a very disturbing message. Well worth a look. If you learned something here be sure to pass it on to your friends and family.
I highly recommend it. If nothing else it’s fuel for thought.
Aspartame, Brain Cancer & the FDA Approval Process

That’s so scary! I don’t consume anything containing aspartame.. I used to, but, when my oldest son was in the 5th grade he did a science experiment to see which sweetener ants prefer. He found an ant bed near the end of our driveway and placed small mounds of white sugar, brown sugar, and nutrasweet. After 24 hours, the brown sugar was completely gone, and the white sugar was being consumed. The ants went out of their way to completely avoid the nutrasweet! That convinced me!! Several people that I have known personally have died in the past 10 years from brain cancer…. two of those people were my aunts… does make you wonder. Thanks for this… I am going to pass it along to my Diet Coke drinking mom!!
Very scary. Good looking out by passing it on.

The more our world moves away from natural foods, the more people are going to get sick and die.
Not all cancers are caused from foods however. The one Baby Girl has was there from the time she was born. It is caused by a mutant gene.
But this is very interesting to keep in mind and consider. So sad.
Do what we can, when we can, and hope for the best when we can’t.

I have no choice but to have a substitute if I want sweet. I use Equal. I’m going to have to check to see if it contains Aspartame because it does sound scary.
It does sound scary, and it is in Equal. Have you ever given Stevia a try? I’ve include a link to and FAQ page with info regarding Stevia. It may be a nice alternative for you. Check it out.

I am looking at my coke zero here and it just says ’sweetners 951 and 950′ and phenylalanine….hmmm, might google those
ps: set you a ‘challenge’ in reply to comment you left on my blog
Go have a perve
Sweetners 951 and 950 and phenylalanine. Doesn’t sound very promising. I have seen your challenge and I cower in its shadow.
Our place is in shambles, and we’re broke as a bloke and that ain’t no joke.
Otherwise I’d be up to the challenge, but for now I’m just gonna hang my head low knowing I’ve failed you.
We actually were going to do Thanksgiving dinner here, but backed out about a week before. For shame.
Peter Parkour
Ah well. Let me know when your place is visitor worthy and you have a bit of $$ – then I will reissue the challenge and we can pretend this day of shame never happened
Sounds like a winner.

The post Cas wrote is quite telling!
You mentioned stevia! I remember when it was green and powdery and I tried sneaking it into my husbands coffee. It did not go over well! LOL! I think you can get it white now? I don’t know what they did to it to make it so. Now I have to look it up again! Thanks for the reminder.
Things like this really make you wonder just how relevant the FDA is. These people are getting paid?
Do you remember when artificial sweeteners first came out and on the package it said not to use if you were pregnant? That should have been the first red flag! But then after a while, that notice disappeared. Why?
I don’t actually remember that, but I do remember never liking that stuff as a kid. It was yucky. You couldn’t pay me to eat it.
As for the Stevia, they’re just refining it more. You can even get it in liquid form. It comes in a little dropper bottle like eye drops come in. You can also buy the plant itself and just pluck leaves as you need ‘em.
Peter Parkour
I’ll admit, I use it all the time. I’m a little addict. Coffee with creamers with “no sugar”- I feel like I’m embalming myself
I think this post is a great reminder. I need to cut back, then cut it out of my diet completely! There is nothing wrong with pure cane sugar, used in moderation. Moderation is key.
There you go… moderation. It’s the key to just about everything we eat.
Pickles are zero points if I’m not mistaken.
You can go pickle crazy.

You’re killing me here. Yeah, yeah, I know it’s the artificial sweeteners. WTF is a girl to do? I know, I know, use Stevia with your cell phone on speaker.
By the way, would you get yer a-s-s over to my blog and check out the post I put up for you, so I can private it ASAP? Every time I look at the pictures I get a little more disgusted:)
Been there, and I love the pics.
Great post, great pics, take it easy on yourself.

I wrote something about Aspertame like a year ago … I never really noticed a difference when I stopped drinking it, but I have a lot of other health issues…. I just know its not good for you!
It gives me a dry throat and a headache, and I frankly can’t stand the flavor of it. I’d like to see more research done on it’s safety, but that’s not likely to happen, with an FDA that finds no faults in dangerous foods.
